Inserting a blank reformatted uSD doesn't help at all. TM40 will create some default folders and that's what you see. Unzipping and copying the downloaded uSD content is the right way. Got no idea why it's not starting with this but try to download the firmware I've formerly written. It's named TM40_EVO_V_1_25_009_ENG_V_1_25_000.puf. Released on March 04, 2013. Leave your uSD content as it is with the default and unzipped content just copy this .puf file into the root.
In case you have the same error message try it with an older firmware, named TM40_EVO_V1_21_008_PSK_V1_20_010.puf. Released on January 12, 2012.
And please note that you need firmware for EVO not MGSP.
I hope this time you'll be lucky!

(If you fail with both just drop me a mail in private and I'll send you my TM40 uSD content.)

Hi ztm,
thanks for your feedback especially the tip with the AUX button. Concerning the 128 it was indeed a typo. I meant the not 128 but 192. Sorry for the confusion. I tried what you suggested but that didn’t help.

 1.Reformatting uSD with FAT16
After inserting the reformatted uSD in the TM40 and restarting the TM40 it creates some folders (PHOTO, PLANS, TM40). PHOTO and PLANS are completely empty. The TM40 folder contains the subfolder LABEL, PLANS, SKIN and two files 000D.FLS and ERR1.LOG. The ERR1.LOG contains an entry: Error Reading from Memory Error ID:   29. The subfolders are also empty except of the LABEL folder.

 2. Next I downloaded the default content (Archives -> Digiplex -> TM40 -> Micro SD contents) and unzipped it to the uSD. The zip is 148MB in size and already contains the v1.25 PUF. After restarting the TM40 the display shows again:
 Error#: 000000
The firmware (V1.21.008) requires an upgraded language/PSK. Copy the latest language file to the micro-SD card (PSK V.1.20.009 or higher). The unit will automatically load the file after inserting the SD card.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance and kind regards
willi

Hi,
EVO never had a 128 zone version. It was only available in 48, 96 and now 192 zones. Maybe it was just mistyping. Sometimes uSD card reformatting is also required, just give it a try. But I think you need to download the latast language file from Paradox homepage. Archives -> Digiplex -> TM40 and there you'll find "Firmware". Choose the latest TM40 EVO v1.25, select language (in your case I guess it's gonna be English) and donwload the .puf file. Put it into the root of your uSD and the TM40 will do the rest. Just follow the onscreen instrutions and you'll have a fully working keypad.
Anyway the PSK files on uSD are in the TM40/SKIN/EVO folder.
And next time when adding zones just press and hold the on-board AUX switch till the LED goes OFF/ON for removing/reconnecting DC to AUX output. I've found it to be much safer than manually disconnecting the wires.
Good luck!

TM40 fail safe mode

Dear forum,
please apologize if I write in English but I don't speak any Hungarian. I hope you can help me even though I'm writing in English.

I own a EVO128 with a TM40 touchscreen. To add a new wired zone I had to remove the power of my Digiplex EVO128. After reconnecting the power to the EVO128 the attached TM40 went into failsafe mode. Somewhere I read that this failure can occur if the content of the SD card is corrupt. Therefore I downloaded the avaiable content (TM40_Update_10-04-2013.zip) for the SD card from the PARADOX support page and unzipped it to the SD card. After inserting the SD card into the TM40 it displays the following:
Error#: 000000
The firmware (V1.21.008) requires an upgraded language/PSK. Copy the latest language file to the micro-SD card (PSK V.1.20.009 or higher). The unit will automatically load the file after inserting the SD card.

Do you have any ideas how to get the TM40 to work again? Where do I get that PSK from and where do I have to place it on the SD card?

Many thanks four your feedback
